Anaplasma spp. Forecast 2018
Anaplasmosis is a tick-borne disease that can affect dogs, horses, and humans. While CAPC is forecasting an average year for anaplasmosis activity in most of the US for 2018, veterinarians in Northern California, Western Pennsylvania and New York State should consider annual testing for anaplasmosis and Lyme disease for their patients, as well as tick preventive. An active year is predicted for Northwestern Minnesota. Two bright spots are the Wisconsin/Minnesota border area and the Boston/Cape Cod region: you are expected to see less activity than normal.
